The Story
My obsession with fiber arts started at eight years old when my aunt taught me to crochet. To be honest? I never actually made anything—just one extremely long, never-ending chain of stitches. But I’ll never forget the feeling of the yarn between my fingers.
That childhood spark eventually turned into a lifelong love affair with fiber. I’ve spent years getting lost in the intricate world of lace knitting, the rhythm of a loom, and even the meditative process of spinning my own yarn. There is something so grounding about creating something from nothing but a single strand. Today, when I pick up a needlepoint canvas and some luxury silk thread, it’s that same "core memory" unlocked.
For the last sixteen years, my job title has been "Mama." I have spent every ounce of my energy raising my babies, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. But as my youngest prepares for school full-time, I realized I was spending a lot of time cleaning, cooking, and… well, wandering around a quiet house.
I knew it was time to find me again.
The entrepreneurial spark that once drove me to sell friendship bracelets door-to-door (we made $80, which felt like a million dollars at nine years old) started flickering again. I didn’t just want a hobby; I wanted to build a sanctuary.
Lucy Lane is that dream come to life.
It’s a space that is calming, sweet, and—let’s be honest—a little bit luxury. Yes, I am a total sucker for silk threads, and yes, I am a "multi-stitcher" who always has a massive project and a tiny one going at the same time.
But the shop? That’s just the bonus. The real mission is the community. I wanted to create a place where women can find friendship, acceptance, and a little bit of healing. We’re here to stitch, sure, but we’re really here to support each other.
I’ve spent sixteen years managing everyone else’s schedule—now, I’m chasing my own. I can’t wait to sit down and stitch with you.
