Wednesday, October 28th | Needlepoint 201: Basketweave Mastery
Ready to level up your stitching game and master the ultimate needlepoint stitch?
If you’ve completed Needlepoint 101 or already know the basics of Continental stitch, it’s time to take the leap into basketweave. Known as the absolute king of needlepoint stitches, basketweave creates a rich, woven back that prevents your canvas from distorting and makes your work last a lifetime.
In this focused 1.5-hour workshop, we’ll demystify the diagonal step-and-pole rhythm of basketweave and show you how to execute it effortlessly.
What You’ll Learn:
-
The Basketweave Technique: Master the diagonal "steps and poles" rhythm that creates a seamless, warp-free canvas.
-
Canvas Management: How to read your canvas threads to know whether you’re traveling "up the steps" or "down the poles."
-
Turning Corners & Boundaries: Navigating edges, shapes, and color changes smoothly without losing your pattern.
What’s Included:
-
Blank practice canvas, tapestry needle, and snips
-
Threads for practicing
-
1.5 hours of expert, live instruction in an intimate setting
-
Personal assistance on the shop floor after class to help you select, thread-match your next project!
